Pro-Thyroid Nutrition
You’re doing everything “right” for your thyroid. So why do you still not feel right?
Exhausted • stubborn weight • bloating • puffy face • hair shedding • brain fog • lack of drive
Even if your TSH is “in range”, you may not need to try harder. You may need a wider thyroid strategy that looks at what your body needs first.
Book Your Free Thyroid Clarity Call →Talk through your thyroid story and leave with three personalised priorities for what deserves attention next.
More energy.
Clearer thinking.
More confidence.
More of yourself back.
How I Support The Wider Thyroid Picture
Thyroid symptoms rarely stay in one lane.
Fatigue is rarely the only thing. Persistent thyroid symptoms often show up as a pattern across energy, weight, digestion, hair, cognition, hormones, nutrient status and recovery. The aim is to work out what deserves attention first rather than treating every symptom as an isolated problem.
“I just don’t feel like myself anymore.”
Exhausted • stubborn weight gain • bloating • puffy face • hair shedding • brain fog • lack of drive
When several symptoms arrive together, the overall pattern can be more useful than chasing each one separately.
Even when some thyroid markers look reassuring, persistent symptoms may still deserve a wider look.
Energy + brain function
Chronic fatigue • low stamina • brain fog • poor concentration • forgetfulness • low motivation
Fatigue and poor concentration can overlap with thyroid dysfunction, but also with iron, B12, folate, food intake, sleep and recovery.
Metabolism + body changes
Stubborn weight • belly fat • puffy face • fluid retention • feeling cold • dry skin • thinning hair
Thyroid hormones play an important role in metabolic rate and energy use. The answer is not automatically to eat less and exercise harder.
Digestion + gut function
Bloating • constipation • reflux • gas • sluggish digestion • diarrhoea • IBS-type symptoms
Thyroid function can overlap with gut motility and digestion, so I consider food intake, bowel patterns and the wider thyroid picture together.
Hormones + menstrual health
Heavy periods • irregular cycles • PMS • PCOS-type symptoms • fibroids • endometriosis • low libido
Thyroid and reproductive health are closely connected, so menstrual symptoms are considered in the wider thyroid and nutritional context.
Mood + nervous system
Anxiety • panic-like symptoms • insomnia • dizziness • vertigo • wired but tired
These symptoms should not automatically be blamed on the thyroid. I also consider sleep, nutrition, stress load, recovery and relevant medical context.
Hashimoto’s + immune context
Hashimoto’s • autoimmune flare-ups • fatigue • hair changes • skin issues • acne • eczema
When thyroid antibodies or autoimmune thyroid disease are part of the picture, nutrition, gut health, nutrient status, stress, recovery and medical management all need appropriate context.
Iron + nutrient overlap
Low iron • anaemia • B12 / folate issues • weakness • breathlessness • hair shedding • poor exercise tolerance
Iron deficiency, anaemia and other nutritional deficiencies can create symptoms that overlap heavily with hypothyroidism.
Blood sugar + metabolic health
Insulin resistance • energy crashes • cravings • stubborn weight • metabolic syndrome
Thyroid function, food intake, muscle activity, sleep, insulin signalling and overall metabolic health can overlap.
When there is more than one thing going on
Chronic fatigue • diagnosed thyroid disease • autoimmune conditions • environmental exposures • emotional stress
The purpose is not to force every symptom into a thyroid explanation. It is to work out where the thyroid fits and what may need attention alongside it.

Why I Built Pro-Thyroid
I built the thyroid support I wish I had been given.
Hi, I’m Blank, a certified Nutritional Therapist, DipNT, ANP. Ten years ago I was dealing with low-thyroid symptoms, bloating and depression. Medication had an important medical role, but I still did not feel like myself and wanted to understand the wider picture.
That search led me deeper into thyroid physiology, nutrition, mineral balance, gut health and the mind-body effects of stress and recovery. I later trained in nutritional therapy and developed my Signature Pro-Thyroid Nutrition Protocol™ around one principle: your thyroid does not work in isolation, so your support should not look at it in isolation either.
I have since supported hundreds of women with persistent thyroid symptoms to make sense of their wider picture and build a more personalised nutrition and lifestyle strategy.

The Signature Pro-Thyroid Shift
Your thyroid problem may not be a lack of effort. It may be what your strategy is focusing on.
Five common places women get stuck, shown visually and simply. Each slide gives you the shift first; open the deeper context only if you want to understand why.

Your labs are “in range”, but you still feel hypothyroid.
TSH or T4 looks better, perhaps after medication, but you are still tired, puffy, foggy, cold or struggling with weight.
Use the results you already have, then look wider where appropriate: symptoms, history, thyroid context, antibodies and relevant nutritional markers.
Why this may still leave you stuck
TSH and Free T4 are clinically useful, but persistent symptoms can overlap with iron status, nutrient adequacy, medication timing, autoimmune thyroid disease, sleep, energy availability and other metabolic factors. The aim is not to dismiss an “in-range” result; it is to ask what that result does and does not explain.

You eat healthier than everyone around you and still cannot shift the belly fat.
Cutting calories, carbohydrates or foods, fasting, exercising harder and trying to be even more disciplined.
Support metabolism first with adequate nourishment, protein, carbohydrate tolerance, recovery and relevant thyroid nutrient needs.
Why this may still leave you stuck
A strategy built mainly around restriction can leave important questions unanswered: are you eating enough for your activity and physiology, are protein and carbohydrate intake appropriate, are iron and other nutrients adequate, and is recovery keeping pace with the demands you are placing on your body?

You keep cleansing because you feel bloated, inflamed and hormonal.
Another detox, elimination diet or gut protocol whenever bloating, puffiness or digestive discomfort returns.
Build foundations first, then consider digestion, liver and gut function, inflammatory load, hormonal context and thyroid conversion where relevant.
Why this may still leave you stuck
Repeated restriction can become another stressor if it reduces nutritional adequacy or makes eating increasingly complicated. I look at the wider pattern, including digestion, food tolerance, menstrual and hormonal symptoms, inflammatory or autoimmune context, sleep and recovery, before assuming another cleanse is the answer.
You are taking everything, but still do not know what is actually helping.
Thyroid support, hormone products, gut supplements, vitamins and another “must-have” bottle.
The right support, for the right reason, at the right time.
Why this may still leave you stuck
More products do not automatically create a clearer strategy. Supplement timing can also matter when thyroid medication is involved. The protocol prioritises food, identified needs and a rationale for each intervention so support can be reviewed rather than endlessly stacked.

You are exhausted, but keep trying to push your body harder.
More exercise, more discipline and more pushing through, even when there is little energy left for the life you actually want.
Regulate and recover so the goal becomes more capacity for life, not simply surviving your schedule.
Why this may still leave you stuck
Sleep, emotional load, movement tolerance, recovery and nervous-system state can change how much capacity you have available. They are not used as a substitute explanation for thyroid disease; they are considered alongside nutrition, medication and the wider thyroid picture.
Here Is What We Do Differently
The Signature Pro-Thyroid Nutrition Protocol™
We bring together your symptoms, thyroid labs, health history, nutrition and wider metabolic picture to decide which areas deserve attention and what should come first. Standard medical care remains important for diagnosis and medication; my role is to add the wider nutrition, lifestyle and metabolic context around it.
Your Pro-Thyroid Transformation Path
Three stages from guessing to a personalised thyroid plan.
Once we know what deserves attention, the process becomes simpler: clarify → investigate → personalise. The aim is not more information for the sake of it, but clearer priorities and practical action.

Get clear on your thyroid story.
Your free Thyroid Clarity Call gives us space to discuss your symptoms, thyroid history, relevant blood results and the questions you still do not feel have been answered.
You leave with three personalised priorities and a clearer view of what deserves attention next.

Find the pattern behind your thyroid symptoms.
Where appropriate, we combine your history and symptom picture with relevant testing rather than treating one result as the whole story.
- Thyroid output + conversion context
- Autoimmune context where relevant
- Iron + nutritional markers
- Mineral context where appropriate
- Metabolic, liver + gut context
- Hormonal + menstrual context

Build your bespoke Pro-Thyroid plan and track the change.
Testing is not the transformation. The transformation comes from turning the findings into a personalised plan, following it consistently and refining it according to your response.
- Personalised thyroid nutrition plan
- Practical meal structure + recipes
- Clear weekly action steps
- Targeted supplements where appropriate
- Symptom + energy tracking
- Basal temperature + resting pulse where appropriate
- Progress reviews + checkpoints

Frequently Asked Questions
Before you book.
Practical questions about results, testing, pregnancy, vegan diets, payment, supplements, medical treatment and what happens after the programme.
How soon will I begin to notice results?
Many clients use around three months as a sensible first window for reviewing meaningful progress, but there is no guaranteed timetable. Your health history, how long symptoms have been present, medication history, thyroid function, nutritional and mineral status, and what we uncover during the process can all affect the pace.
Some people notice changes in energy, digestion, concentration or other symptoms sooner, while others need longer. Your current picture did not develop overnight, so rebuilding nutritional adequacy, recovery, metabolic resilience and sustainable habits can take time.
I provide the strategy, interpretation and support, but progress also depends on what is driving your symptoms and how consistently the recommendations can be implemented in real life.
Can I request additional labs? Will you review my bloodwork?
Yes. Existing bloodwork can be reviewed as part of your wider thyroid and nutritional picture, within the scope of nutritional therapy. I look at the results alongside your symptoms, health history, medication and food intake rather than treating one number as the whole story.
If additional testing could genuinely help answer a useful question, we can discuss the most relevant options. I do not recommend testing simply for the sake of collecting more data, and anything that requires medical diagnosis, prescribing or specialist investigation is referred back to your GP, endocrinologist or appropriate clinician.
Can I participate in this programme while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Support can be adapted for pregnancy and postpartum, but the priorities change. Pregnancy alters normal physiology and laboratory reference ranges, so thyroid and other blood results need pregnancy-specific interpretation by the medical team responsible for your care.
My focus is on appropriate nutrition, blood-sugar stability, nutrient adequacy and preparing for postpartum recovery. Intensive antimicrobial, detox-style or highly restrictive protocols are generally not appropriate to begin routinely during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and many herbs or supplements require extra caution or medical oversight.
Your GP, endocrinologist, midwife or obstetric team remains central to medical decisions throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Would you recommend this programme if I’m vegan?
A vegan diet does not automatically exclude you from the programme. The important question is whether your current diet is meeting your individual needs for energy, protein and thyroid-relevant nutrients.
Where appropriate, we pay particular attention to nutrients that may need more deliberate planning on a vegan diet, such as vitamin B12, iron, iodine, selenium, zinc, omega-3 fats, calcium and adequate protein. Fortified foods, testing and targeted supplementation may be useful depending on your individual picture.
The aim is to work respectfully within your dietary choices while being clear about nutritional priorities and any limitations we need to address.
Do you take insurance?
I can work with insurance where your individual provider and policy cover my services, although reimbursement for functional nutrition is uncommon and varies considerably between policies.
I also offer instalment options and a Conscious Fees system with three tiers to make support more accessible where possible.
What happens after the programme ends?
Before the programme finishes, we review what has changed, what still needs attention and which habits, nutrition priorities or supports are worth carrying forward. You leave with clear maintenance priorities rather than a final report and no idea what to do next.
If you want continued support, extension packages are available at a reduced fee. Depending on what you need, these can include additional laboratory testing, monthly Zoom check-ins and ongoing messaging support to help you keep progressing without starting again from scratch.
Some clients are ready to continue independently, while others prefer a lighter-touch continuation. There is no requirement to stay in ongoing support indefinitely.
Will I need to order supplements?
Food comes first, but practitioner-grade supplements may be included in your protocol when there is a clear reason for using them. Recommendations are based on your symptoms, food intake, relevant testing, medication and wider health context rather than adding products simply because they are labelled “thyroid support”.
For some clients, supplement costs are around £100–£150 per month for a period of time, although this can be lower or higher depending on what is actually required. Nutrient-repletion or gut-focused support may run for 30–60 days and sometimes longer, with the plan reviewed rather than automatically continued.
Where supplements could affect thyroid medication absorption or interact with treatment, timing and suitability are considered carefully. The goal is targeted support in the right order, not an ever-growing supplement cupboard.
My doctor tells me my thyroid labs are fine. What does that mean for me?
TSH is the standard first-line blood test for primary thyroid dysfunction, and Free T4 is commonly added when TSH is abnormal or when symptoms persist during treatment. Those tests are useful, but they answer a specific clinical question rather than explaining every possible reason you may still feel tired, cold, foggy, puffy or unlike yourself.
Where it is clinically relevant, I review the wider context: your Free T4, medication history, symptom pattern, iron and nutrient status, food intake and other metabolic contributors. Free T3 can be useful in selected situations, while thyroid antibodies such as TPO antibodies help provide autoimmune context when Hashimoto’s is suspected or already diagnosed.
I do not treat Reverse T3 as a stand-alone “stress test”. Major thyroid organisations do not recommend it routinely for diagnosing hypothyroidism in otherwise stable outpatients. The aim is not to tell you that your doctor is wrong, but to understand what the existing tests do and do not explain, and what else may deserve attention.
One practical detail that is often missed: high-dose biotin supplements can interfere with some thyroid laboratory assays, so supplement use should always be disclosed before testing.
I am concerned this could conflict with my medical treatment.
The Pro-Thyroid approach is designed to sit alongside medical treatment, not replace it. Your GP, endocrinologist or prescribing clinician remains responsible for diagnosis, thyroid medication, dosage and any medication changes. My role is different: I work on nutrition, lifestyle, symptom patterns and the wider metabolic context that can influence how you feel.
I work with women taking levothyroxine, Synthroid and other prescribed thyroid medicines. This is one reason I pay attention to timing and interactions. For example, iron and calcium supplements can reduce levothyroxine absorption if taken too close to the dose, and food timing can also matter. Any medication-specific change is discussed with your prescriber or pharmacist rather than made independently.
So the programme is complementary rather than contradictory: your medical team manages thyroid disease and medication, while I support the nutritional and lifestyle factors around it.
I thought the thyroid can’t be helped with diet and lifestyle?
Some thyroid conditions cannot be “fixed naturally”, and Pro-Thyroid does not pretend otherwise. A partial or total thyroidectomy, established Hashimoto’s or Graves’ disease, postpartum thyroiditis, pituitary disease and other medical causes of thyroid dysfunction can require ongoing medical monitoring and medication. Nutrition is supportive care, not a replacement for that treatment.
The reason I still look beyond the prescription is that thyroid physiology does not happen in isolation. The wider picture can include energy and protein availability, iron and other nutrient status, T4-to-T3 conversion context, blood-sugar stability, digestion and gut function, inflammatory or autoimmune load, liver metabolism, sleep and recovery.
Hormonal context matters too. Menstrual symptoms and patterns sometimes described in functional nutrition as “oestrogen dominance” are considered alongside the thyroid rather than diagnosed from one symptom. Chronic emotional stress does not automatically cause thyroid disease, but it can influence sleep, appetite, recovery, nervous-system regulation and symptom burden, which is why the mind-body piece is part of the protocol rather than treated as an afterthought.
I also look at potentially thyroid-relevant dietary and environmental factors without turning food into the enemy. For example, excessive iodine can be problematic in susceptible people; soy, very high intakes of goitrogenic foods and some supplements can matter in particular contexts; and iron, calcium, food timing or high-dose biotin can affect medication absorption or thyroid testing. These are assessed individually rather than used to justify a blanket “anti-thyroid foods” list.
That is the difference between saying “diet cures the thyroid” and the Pro-Thyroid approach. The goal is to support the metabolic, nutritional, inflammatory, hormonal and emotional context around your thyroid so the parts we can influence are not being ignored while your medical treatment remains appropriately managed.
