TSH (Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone):
Measures the signal sent from the pituitary gland to the thyroid.
Identifies if the brain thinks the body needs more or less thyroid hormone (high TSH suggests hypothyroidism, low TSH suggests hyperthyroidism or suppression).
Free & Total T4 (Thyroxine):
Measures the unbound, active form of the main hormone produced by the thyroid. Benefit: Evaluates the total output of the thyroid gland.
Free & Total T3 (Triiodothyronine):
Measures the active thyroid hormone that regulates metabolism.
Crucial for identifying conversion issues
Reverse T3:
Measures an inactive byproduct of image.gif metabolism.
High levels indicate that the body is diverting away from active often due to stress, inflammation, or acute illness.
TPO Antibodies (TPOAb) & Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TgAb):
Check for autoimmune activity (Hashimoto’s or Graves’ disease).
Detects if the immune system is attacking the thyroid, which can cause dysfunction even if TSH is in a normal range.

Benefits of a Full Panel vs. Just TSH & T4 which is very common worldwide is it
- Detects Conversion Issues: You may have normal levels, but if your body is not converting it due to stress or nutrient deficiencies, you will still experience hypothyroid symptoms.
- Identifies Autoimmunity Early: Measuring TPO antibodies can explain symptoms before TSH values exceed typical “normal” ranges. This normally indicates an autoimmune condition such as hashimoto’s.
- Assesses Stress Impact: Together provides insight into how stress and cortisol are affecting thyroid hormone usage.
- Monitors Management: This is mainly Helps determine if thyroid supplementation is effectively increasing metabolic rate (temperature and pulse) without increasing stress hormones.
The “Full Monty” Iron/Anemia blood test is a comprehensive blood panel used within the Root Cause Protocol (RCP) to identify hidden mineral dysregulations, particularly focusing on copper, iron, and magnesium status
Unlike standard blood tests, the Full Monty looks beyond simple iron deficiency to measure bioavailable copper (ceruloplasmin) and retinol (true vitamin A), which are crucial for proper iron metabolism alongside other minerals to get a Birds Eye view. Low iron is rarely low iron, but dysregulation of the iron recycling system that leads to iron stuck in tissues causing inflammation with blood panels looking like its anemia from misunderstood ranges and interpretations. All along you probably feel anemic with chronic fatigue. The good news is there is a natural solution.
Key Components of the Full Monty Blood Panel
The Full Monty panel generally includes the following markers, with specific “ideal”.
- Iron Panel: Serum Iron, Ferritin (storage), TIBC (Total Iron Binding Capacity), and Serum Transferrin.
- Copper/Mineral Status: Serum Copper, Ceruloplasmin (key copper transport protein), and Zinc
- Magnesium: RBC Magnesium (Red Cell Magnesium).
- Vitamins: Retinol (Vitamin A), Vitamin D, and Vitamin E.
- Metabolic Markers: Uric Acid.
The Core Philosophy: Iron-Copper Dysregulation
The RCP argues that many symptoms of anemia are misdiagnosed, and the real issue is often anemia of chronic inflammation, characterized by:
- Low bioavailable copper (ceruloplasmin): Copper is needed to move iron.
- Unbound, high iron in tissues/organs: Iron is stored but not usable.
The Full Monty helps distinguish between true iron deficiency and this iron-copper dysregulation.
