Thyroid + Mineral Testing
“In range” does not always explain why you still feel unwell.
Maybe your TSH is in range.
Perhaps levothyroxine has moved your numbers
in the right direction.
Yet you are still dealing with fatigue,
hair shedding, feeling cold, brain fog,
puffiness, low stamina or stubborn weight.
Or you keep wondering whether iron, minerals,
nutrition or something beyond the thyroid gland
could be part of the picture.
The goal isn’t more testing. It’s choosing the right test to help ask a better question about what may be missing.

Look Beyond The Tick Box
If the bloods look reassuring but your symptoms haven’t changed, the investigation needs a wider lens.
Reference ranges are important. But being inside an interval does not automatically explain why you still feel unwell.
And simply replacing conventional ranges with narrower “functional” ranges can still leave us chasing individual numbers.
My approach is to look at the relationships between results, the pattern they create, your symptoms and the wider nutritional and metabolic context.
That can include thyroid production and conversion context, iron, nutrient availability, energy availability, liver and gut health, inflammation and recovery where relevant.
A Different Way To Read The Picture
The value is not simply more markers. It is knowing how to interpret them together.
I am not interested in finding a tighter range simply so another number can be labelled “sub-optimal”. The aim is to recognise patterns and identify which areas deserve attention next.
Your numbers improved. Why didn’t you?
TSH and thyroid hormone results are important. But if the numbers improve while the symptoms remain, the useful question is what else deserves consideration.
Rather than simply switching to narrower ranges, I look at relationships between the markers alongside symptoms, history and wider context.
The goal is not a prettier lab report. It is knowing what deserves attention next.
Producing thyroid hormone is only one part of the story.
The wider picture can include thyroid output, conversion context, antibodies, iron, nutritional status, liver and gut context, recovery and energy availability.
Reverse T3 is included as an additional data point where conversion is being considered. It is not treated as a stand-alone test for stress.
When the results look reassuring but you still feel unwell, we widen the lens.
A mineral result is not always as simple as high or low.
I use an RCP-informed approach to HTMA, looking at mineral patterns and relationships rather than automatically interpreting every high as excess or every low as deficiency.
HTMA is considered alongside symptoms, diet, history and relevant blood testing. It does not directly measure intracellular mineral status.
HTMA adds another nutritional lens. It is not used as a stand-alone diagnosis.
Choose Your Starting Point
Choose the test that matches the question you want answered.
Each route includes a personalised consultation, so you are not left trying to interpret a report on your own. Choose the level of testing that best matches where you want to start.
Mineral Investigation
HTMA + Personalised Consultation
For those wanting to explore mineral and nutritional context around fatigue, thyroid physiology and iron metabolism.
Includes
- Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis
- Symptoms + health-history review
- RCP-informed pattern interpretation
- Personalised consultation
- Prioritised nutritional next steps
Rather than treating each mineral as a simple high or low, I look at the pattern and relationships in the wider context of you.
For a fuller RCP-informed picture, relevant blood testing may also be recommended separately.
Planning to join the full 1:1 programme? HTMA is already included there.

Pro-Thyroid Investigation
Full Thyroid Panel + Consultation
For persistent thyroid symptoms when you want a fuller laboratory picture and interpretation that looks beyond isolated ranges.
Includes
- Comprehensive thyroid laboratory panel
- Blood draw included
- TSH, Free T4 + Free T3
- Reverse T3
- TPO + thyroglobulin antibodies
- Personalised consultation
Rather than simply swapping conventional ranges for tighter ones, I look at relationships and patterns across the thyroid markers alongside your symptoms and wider nutritional context.
Additional iron and RCP-informed blood testing can be ordered separately where appropriate.

Thyroid + Mineral Investigation
Full Thyroid Panel + HTMA + Consultation
For those who want the thyroid laboratory picture and wider mineral and nutritional context considered together.
Includes
- Comprehensive thyroid panel
- Thyroid blood draw included
- TSH, Free T4, Free T3 + Reverse T3
- TPO + thyroglobulin antibodies
- Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis
- RCP-informed HTMA interpretation
- Integrated thyroid + mineral analysis
- Personalised consultation
The thyroid and mineral results are not treated as two separate reports. I bring the patterns together with your symptoms and history to help identify what deserves priority.
Additional RCP-informed blood testing may still be useful where further iron-metabolism context is needed.
